Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a manual therapeutic tool originating in osteopathy. It uses a light touch with the hands over different parts of the body, and it does not manipulate. It is a well-used treatment both for physical or psychological symptoms as for example anxiety, depression, insomnia, phobias, chronic or acute pain, migraines, or any other disorder in the health.
The body possesses innate capacity for healing itself, but with our normal everyday lifestyle, only medication is used for whatever symptoms we meet.
Biodynamic craniosacral therapy offers wonderful support for the body in deep relaxation to release both physical and emotional/mental weight and pain.
It can be used as a primary or complementary treatment. It helps to find our center and reconnect with it, facilitates the integration of changes, enhances our ability to introduce new habits successfully, and supports to maintain the psychophysical wellbeing and keep our balance during stressful and demanding periods.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy helps us to find our center and to reconnect with it, balancing us with the integration of all that we carry and invokes the necessary changes to improve our vitality. It also lays solid ground to introduce new healthy habits for physical and psychological well-being, especially in stages of great demand or stress.
There’s no need to take off the clothes during the sessions. I apply light contact with the hands to different parts of the body. The in-person session lasts for 60-70 minutes, and a remote session takes about 45 minutes.
During the treatment, I help your system to release tensions and reinforce your personal healing system by supporting the natural healthy state of the body. Each session may differ from any other, even with the same person, depending on the specific needs of the present state.
Craniosacral Biodynamic Therapy is based on the principle of the existence of a series of rhythmic movements that emerge from the tissues and fluids of the body and are called “the Tides”. These different rhythms can be perceived as a subtle respiratory movement in all the structures that make up the craniosacral system (brain, spinal cord, cerebrospinal fluid, meninges, cranial bones, pelvis, and sacrum), and they are also transmitted to all organs, cells and body tissues. The power and quality with which this impulse emerges and is transmitted to the entire organism determine its state of health and vitality.
The treatment helps to strengthen and relax the autonomic nervous system, which is responsible for fight and flight responses. This holistic therapy approach guides us to return to a relaxed state and lower the level of stress hormones – such as cortisol and adrenaline – in the body.
It is a deep relaxation process of the whole organism, and very often you may fall asleep during the session.
I am an accredited therapist and member of the Spanish Association of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.
