My father, a film director, some times in his life, long before I was born, wanted to speak French and study philosophy.
I went to a French-Hungarian bilingual high school (was my own decision) then I chose to study philosophy at the university.
My mother was always in love with the Spanish language and had her secret desire to live in Barcelona.
I live in Barcelona since 2012 without ever have chosen to live here on purpose.
It’s since many years, rather since decades that I discovered how we all try to accomplish the desires and dreams of our parents… and though since years I consider that “I’m done” with completing my parent’s desires, that’s possibly not that true. Maybe our children (including ourselves as children of our parents) are some way have come to us to continue our stories and “write” their own chapter the best they can…
I’m very lucky to have a good relationship with my parents, and it’s not only luck, it’s conscious work as well. But it depends on all of us, all three of us, for which I am as proud of them as they are of me.
“If you want to go quick, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” – as an African proverb says.
Sometimes I’ve gone quick and alone, but I’ve come this far with them – and with the persons I love and I carry and who carry me in the heart. 🙏🏻
I hope you still have a dream to reach.
xx
